CoF professional excursion to Future Green City
Our Dutch colleagues of Royal VHG hosted the professional excursion of the ELCA Committee of Firms this Autumn. The program was linked to the Future Green City Conference, that took place from September 23rd till 26th 2024 in Utrecht.
What does the city of the future look like? Green, of course. During the conference there were many very interesting speeches and workshops. We learned amongst others about the green development in Singapore and how greenery historically evolved in the urban area. Our CoF-member Nico Wissing gave a presentation about the certification system in NL Green Label that focusses on the application of sustainable materials and the creation of sustainable green spaces. During field trips, you were able to visit several projects. There was a field trip to for example the city of Gouda and to the Maxima Park in Utrecht. One of the highlights, not to miss, was a visit to Wonderwoods. This project, a statement in he city centre of Utrecht, is designed by Stefano Boeri. This architect has also designed the Bosco Verticale in Milan. Our CoF-member Koninklijke Ginkel Groep created the green walls and spaces at Wonderwoods. They also guided us during the visit to this wonderful building.
Words can not express how divers the program of this professional excursion was. That is why we invite you to view a video wrap-up on https://fgc2024.com.
Thank you very much to our Dutch colleagues for the kind reception in The Netherlands and the wonderful experiences at Future Green City!
